Comptroller Peter Franchot Gets Hands-On With

Corporate Maintenance Group

to Help a School in Need

Thursday, July 9, 2009:

During a recent function in late May, Rick Farrell, owner of Corporate Maintenance Group, was introduced to Peter Franchot, Maryland’s State Comptroller.  During conversation, Peter mentioned a recent promise he made to clean a wall at a local school in Baltimore City.  Rick responded, volunteered the services of his pressure washing company; adding, “It will be good for our guys to help out in the community.”

As part of a recent tour of the state’s school construction needs, Peter Franchot recently toured Westside Elementary School on Fulton Avenue in Baltimore City.  Noticing the stains and dirty appearance of the building, he made a promise to take action.

Following through on his promise, Mr. Franchot did more than get someone to clean it.  He literally rolled up his sleeves, donned the bright yellow boots, and jumped in to help with the project.  With a bit of instruction from the crew of CMG, Mr. Franchot tackled a portion of the sidewalk cleaning with a spinner machine, while other crew members pressure washed the walls and surrounding areas.

Members of the community and the school's staff were on hand to observe the transformation--from grit & grime to clean & shine!
